Gloucestershire County Council Budget Survey

Gloucestershire County Council are planning their budget for the next 12 months, and are proposing an initial £1m climate change action fund, which will kickstart work and investment in local measures against the climate crisis.

They're also allocating the budget for other areas, including children's services, schools, and roadways.

We're disappointed that while £1million is being allocated to addressing climate breakdown, yet 150 times that amount is being spent on road improvements over the next three years.

We need to invest far more in public transportation, cycling and pedestrianisation so that roadways are managed in that context, and climate change is being addressed along with it.

The public has a chance to commentate on the new budget with a survey. It closes on Friday 17th January 2020, and is a great opportunity to share views on how essential climate action is.

Full details of the budget proposal can be found here.
