Mark Barber

Hello, my name is Mark Barber and I’m standing this May to be your local Green Party councillor in Swindon Village.

I am recently recently retired from the NHS as a community medical officer for both the Gloucestershire and Herefordshire health districts. I have devoted my time to supporting community initiatives in Cheltenham for the last six years. These have included the St Paul's based Freshhope community charity and the city focused organisation Clean Air Cheltenham, dedicated to increasing local awareness of air quality issues particularly around schools and residential areas in Cheltenham through programmes of education and outreach work. I think Cheltenham needs far better than it is getting from the current administration, especially on air quality which affects everyone in town - Swindon Village is no different.

I feel Swindon village deserves a fresh approach to local government focusing on community health and wellbeing and if elected look forward to serving our community in the coming years. Together with Ed Saul my fellow candidate I will strive to work hard for you as your local councillor.
