Jan Foster
My name is Jan Foster and I’m standing to be your Green Party councillor in Prestbury.
In the last elections here, Greens finished 2nd place with almost 500 local people in Prestbury voting Green – meaning there are more Green voters in Prestbury than in any other part of Cheltenham! This remarkable 2nd place saw Greens finish well ahead of both the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats, whilst the PAB vote continues to decline. In May 2024 it will be a 2 horse race between Greens and the PAB here.
I have lived and worked in Cheltenham for over 20 years. Prestbury has its own distinct character and I would do my best to represent the residents’ best interests, whatever their political persuasion, while working towards a greener future.
I have had a long and fulfilling career, mostly in customer service and education sectors, but I also have experience of volunteering at grass roots level both in Cheltenham and abroad. I worked in Prestbury for more than a decade and love the area. Now that I have reached retirement age I want to give my time to my local community.
As a Green I care deeply about climate, the environment, and empowering local communities. The decisions taken at a local level have an immediate effect on the quality of our everyday lives. If I am elected I will listen to your concerns, represent you at the council and stand up for you, and work hard to keep Prestbury a great place to live.
As PAB continue to decline, we need a strong and independent voice to stand up for Prestbury.
